– Hire Skates: 40 weeks x £5/hour = £200 per year.

Calculating Monthly Costs (for 1 hour per week):
Divide the annual cost by 12 months, and round to the nearest pound:

-Own Skates: £160 / 12 = £13 per month.
-Hire Skates: £200 / 12 = £17 per month.

Calculating Monthly Costs (for more than 1 hour per week):
Multiply the monthly cost for 1 hour by the total number of hours you skate per week.

Example:
– Skater with own skates, 2 hours per week: £13/hour x 2 hours = £26 per month.
– Skater hiring skates, 3 hours per week: £17/hour x 3 hours = £51 per month.
